How to use

Thoroughly wash and decontaminate the vehicle before beginning machine polishing.

Inspect the paint under suitable lighting and carry out a test section to determine the most appropriate pad-and-compound combination.

Fit ADBL Roller Polish 75 mm securely and centrally to a compatible backing plate.

Apply your chosen polishing compound according to its instructions.

Place the pad against the paint before switching on the polishing machine.

Work a small section at a time using controlled, overlapping passes. Keep the pad properly positioned against the surface and avoid applying unnecessary pressure.

Once the polishing cycle is complete, remove the residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect the result.

Clean the pad regularly while polishing to prevent spent compound and removed paint residue from building up within the foam.

If greater correction is required, move to a more aggressive pad or compound. If the required defects have been removed but further refinement is necessary, follow with a softer finishing combination.

Roller Polish is arguably one of the more versatile pads in the ADBL Roller range because it occupies the middle ground between cutting and finishing.

That makes it a good candidate for your initial test section when the paint doesn’t obviously require heavy correction. Depending on the compound and paint system, you may find that a medium polishing combination provides enough correction while still producing an excellent finish.

Don’t assume that the word “Polish” dictates exactly how aggressive the combination will be. ADBL specifies that the pad works with all types of polishing compound, so your compound choice has a significant influence on the overall result.

For example, pairing Roller Polish with a medium polishing compound will behave differently from pairing the same pad with a fine finishing polish.

The 75 mm size is particularly useful when polishing areas where a 125 mm pad becomes awkward. Rather than trying to hang a larger pad over edges or force it onto a restricted section, switch to the smaller setup and maintain better control over where the pad is working.

However, compact pads still require careful machine handling. Check that the backing plate has sufficient clearance from adjacent trim, panel edges and body lines before starting the machine.

Keep the pad clean throughout the job. A pad loaded with spent compound and paint residue will gradually behave differently from a fresh pad, making consistent results harder to achieve.

If Roller Polish achieves the defect removal you’re looking for but leaves the paint needing further refinement, move down to Roller Finish or another suitable softer pad rather than continuing to work the paint unnecessarily with the same combination.

Likewise, if your test section shows that Roller Polish isn’t providing sufficient correction, stepping up to an appropriate cutting pad is generally preferable to repeatedly polishing the same area and hoping for a different result.
