Description
GYEON Q²M Rotary Wool Cut is a dedicated wool polishing pad designed to deliver fast, effective paint correction when used with a rotary polishing machine.
Compared with a conventional foam pad, wool can provide greater cutting efficiency, making it particularly useful when correcting more substantial swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and other defects where faster material removal is required.
Q²M Rotary Wool Cut occupies the more versatile position within GYEON’s rotary wool range. It provides strong correction while sitting below Rotary Wool Heavy Cut in outright aggressiveness, giving experienced users an additional option between conventional foam correction and maximum-cut wool polishing.
Pair it with an appropriate GYEON compound to create a powerful correction combination before stepping down to a finer pad and polish where additional refinement is required.
Wool and rotary polishing can deliver impressive correction quickly, but that performance also demands greater technique and control than a mild foam polishing combination. Q²M Rotary Wool Cut is therefore best suited to users who understand machine polishing and can assess the paint as they work.
Prestige Detailing Tips
- Use with a rotary polisher: This pad is specifically designed around rotary machine polishing. Make sure the pad size and backing plate are compatible with your machine.
- Carry out a test section before committing to a correction combination. Use the least aggressive pad and compound capable of achieving the result required.
- Pair Q²M Rotary Wool Cut with GYEON Q²M Compound for a strong correction combination, adjusting your choice according to paint hardness and defect severity.
- For more severe defects requiring greater cutting power, Q²M Rotary Wool Heavy Cut sits above this pad in GYEON’s rotary wool range.
- Wool fibres need to remain clean and open to work effectively. Clean or blow out the pad regularly rather than allowing spent compound and paint residue to accumulate.
- Don’t overload the pad with compound. Excess product can clog the fibres and make the polishing process less predictable.
- Rotary correction can generate significant heat quickly. Monitor the surface, particularly around edges, body lines and previously repaired areas.
- Strong wool correction may leave haze or polishing marks that require a subsequent refinement stage. Inspect the finish and step down to an appropriate foam pad and polish where necessary.
- After correction and refinement, remove remaining polishing oils with GYEON Q²M Prep before applying ceramic coating or another compatible protection product.
- Our paint correction guide covers the wider correction process.
Wool or foam?
Wool pad → faster, stronger correction where substantial defect removal is required
Foam cutting pad → more progressive correction with a wider range of cutting and finishing options
Neither is automatically “better”. The correct choice depends on the paint system, defects, polishing machine and finish you’re trying to achieve.
