Its long, soft fibres help lift dirt away from the paintwork and hold contamination within the mitt rather than unnecessarily dragging it across the surface. Combined with a quality car shampoo, SilkMitt provides excellent glide across the paintwork – helping reduce the risk of the swirl marks and wash-induced marring associated with poor washing technique.

Prestige Detailing Tips

• Always pre-wash the vehicle before making contact with the paint. Removing as much loose dirt as possible beforehand reduces the amount of contamination your wash mitt needs to handle.
• Use plenty of shampoo solution and regularly rinse the mitt during the wash process. Our guide on how to safe wash your car covers the complete process.
• Work from the cleaner upper sections of the vehicle down towards the dirtier lower panels. Avoid using the same mitt on heavily contaminated wheels.
• Don’t apply unnecessary pressure. Let the shampoo’s lubrication and the fibres of the mitt do the work.
• Inspect and rinse Q²M SilkMitt thoroughly after every wash. Dirt trapped within a wash mitt can become abrasive during its next use.
• Allow the mitt to air dry completely before storing it. Avoid sealing a damp wash mitt inside a container or detailing bag.
• Replace any wash mitt that remains contaminated, becomes damaged or can no longer be cleaned effectively. A worn wash mitt isn’t worth risking your paintwork for.
