Description
ADBL ProMitt is a professional microfibre wash mitt designed to combine effective cleaning with gentle contact on automotive paintwork. Its soft, densely embedded fibres hold plenty of wash solution, helping keep the surface properly lubricated as the mitt moves across the vehicle.
Designed with frequent use in mind, ProMitt combines durable, wear-resistant microfibre with a secure cuff and an internal grip-enhancing stitch. The result is a comfortable, highly absorbent wash mitt suited to enthusiasts pursuing a safe-wash routine as well as professional detailers regularly carrying out contact washes.
Why choose ADBL ProMitt?
- Soft microfibre construction – provides gentle contact with automotive paintwork during hand washing.
- Highly absorbent – holds plenty of shampoo solution to help keep the surface wet and lubricated.
- Dense, durable fibres – securely embedded microfibre is designed to withstand repeated detailing use.
- Secure cuff – the stretch-resistant cuff helps prevent the mitt from slipping from your hand while washing.
- Improved internal grip – additional stitching makes the mitt easier to hold and control.
- Large 20 × 30 cm format – provides plenty of working area for efficiently washing larger exterior panels.
- Easy to clean – designed with regular professional and enthusiast use in mind.
How to use
Before beginning your contact wash, thoroughly pre-wash and rinse the vehicle to remove as much loose dirt and grit as possible.
Prepare your chosen car shampoo according to its recommended dilution and thoroughly soak the ADBL ProMitt in the wash solution.
Begin washing at the cleaner upper sections of the vehicle and gradually work down towards the more heavily contaminated lower areas.
Move the mitt gently across the paintwork rather than applying unnecessary pressure. Allow the shampoo and microfibre to do the cleaning.
Rinse the ProMitt regularly during the wash to release accumulated contamination before returning it to the shampoo solution.
Continue working around the vehicle in manageable sections, ensuring the paint remains adequately lubricated.
Once the contact wash is complete, rinse the vehicle thoroughly and dry it using a clean dedicated drying towel.
After use, thoroughly clean the ProMitt and allow it to dry completely before storage.
Prestige Detailing Tips
A good wash mitt helps reduce the risk of wash-induced defects, but technique is just as important. Don’t use ProMitt to compensate for an inadequate pre-wash. Removing as much loose contamination as possible before touching the paint means there is less dirt for the mitt to pick up and potentially drag across the surface.
We’d also recommend working from the cleanest areas towards the dirtiest. Roof, glass and upper body panels should generally be tackled before lower doors, bumpers and other areas where road grime tends to accumulate.
When the mitt becomes visibly contaminated, rinse it thoroughly rather than continuing to wash. If you’re using a two-bucket method, regularly rinse the ProMitt in your dedicated rinse bucket before loading it with fresh shampoo solution again.
For an ADBL-based two-bucket setup, you can pair the ProMitt with the ADBL Washy and Splushy buckets and fit an ADBL Dirt Blocker to help keep released contamination towards the bottom of the bucket.
Don’t use the same mitt for everything. We’d keep a good-quality ProMitt primarily for painted bodywork rather than using it interchangeably on heavily contaminated wheels, exhaust tips or other particularly dirty areas.
ADBL also offers the CareMitt, but the two shouldn’t be treated as identical products. ProMitt is the larger 20 × 30 cm professional wash mitt, while CareMitt measures 27 × 20 cm and uses flexible fibres designed to conform closely to the surface and reach more intricate areas.
Whichever mitt you choose, lubrication remains crucial. A quality shampoo with good lubricity allows the fibres to glide more freely across the paint rather than unnecessarily dragging against it.
