Application and curing guidance
Surface preparation: Thoroughly wash and chemically decontaminate the vehicle using suitable products such as GYEON Q²M Iron and Q²M Tar. Clay the paintwork where necessary and carry out paint correction to remove defects. Following polishing, wash with Q²M Degrease Tabs and hot water according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the surface is completely dry and free from oils, then apply Q²M Prep. Wait 15 minutes before coating.
Stage 1 – Q² Mohs EVO: Shake the bottle before use. Apply a generous, even layer of Mohs EVO using the supplied coating applicator, working on cool, dust-free paintwork. Carefully level the coating across each panel or working section. Wipe off after approximately 10 seconds, or immediately in warmer conditions, ensuring no residue, streaks or high spots remain.
Optional second Mohs EVO layer: A single layer provides the necessary base protection. For additional durability, a second Mohs EVO layer may be applied after at least one hour. Do not exceed two Mohs layers.
Stage 2 – Q² Skin EVO: Following the detailed GYEON coating manual, allow one hour after the final Mohs EVO layer before applying Skin EVO. Spread an even layer of Skin EVO using a criss-cross motion, working in manageable sections. Wipe off immediately and carefully inspect the paintwork to ensure a uniform finish.
Initial drying: Once both coating stages are complete, leave the vehicle in a dry, sheltered location for at least 12 hours. Prevent exposure to rain, water and moisture during this period. The vehicle may be driven after this initial drying period, provided the manufacturer’s conditions have been met.
Early maintenance: Avoid washing with strong detergents during the first 14 days. If the vehicle becomes heavily contaminated, remove contamination using an appropriate gentle cleaning method rather than leaving potentially damaging deposits on the paintwork.
Ongoing maintenance: Wash regularly with a suitable pH-neutral car shampoo. GYEON Q²M Cure can be used as a separate maintenance product to support the coating’s hydrophobic performance. GYEON Q² Wax may also be applied after the first wash, no earlier than 14 days after coating.
Manufacturer-stated durability is a maximum estimate and depends on surface preparation, application quality, environmental exposure and maintenance. Always follow the instructions supplied with the product, particularly where application intervals differ between manufacturer publications.
