ADBL Roller Polish 30 mm is a compact foam polishing pad designed for controlled paint correction and refinement in particularly small, curved and difficult-to-reach areas. Its tiny 30 mm working size allows you to machine-polish intricate sections of bodywork that would be impractical to tackle with conventional polishing pads.

Suitable for compatible Dual Action and rotary machines, Roller Polish occupies the versatile middle ground between ADBL’s aggressive Roller Hard Cut and softer Roller Soft Polish pads. How to use

Wash and thoroughly decontaminate the vehicle before machine polishing.

Inspect the area under suitable lighting and carry out a test section to determine whether Roller Polish provides the appropriate level of correction.

Fit ADBL Roller Polish 30 mm securely and centrally to the appropriate backing plate of your compatible DA or rotary polishing machine.

Apply a small amount of your chosen polishing compound to the pad. The 30 mm working surface requires considerably less compound than a conventional full-size pad.

Place the pad correctly against the paint before starting the machine.

Polish the area using controlled movements and appropriate machine speed and pressure. Take particular care around edges, body lines, trim and neighbouring surfaces.

Once the polishing cycle is complete, wipe away the residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect the result.

Clean the pad frequently to prevent polishing compound and removed paint residue from accumulating in the foam.

If additional correction is required, consider a more aggressive combination. If the defects have been removed but further refinement is necessary, move to a softer 30 mm pad and suitable finishing polish.

Roller Polish 30 mm is all about precision. We’d reach for it when the area is too small or complicated for a 75 mm pad but doesn’t require the aggressive correction provided by Roller Hard Cut.

Within ADBL’s compact foam range, you can think of the progression broadly as:

Roller Hard Cut → Roller Polish → Roller Soft Polish

You don’t necessarily need to use all three. Carry out a test section and select the least aggressive combination capable of producing the result you want.

The 30 mm format is particularly useful for intricate paintwork, but don’t confuse a smaller pad with a licence to polish anywhere. Before switching the machine on, make sure the pad and backing plate have adequate clearance from trim, sharp edges and adjacent surfaces.

Compound choice also matters. The overall level of correction comes from the combination of pad, compound, machine, paint hardness and technique rather than the pad alone.

Use very little compound. Four drops may make sense on a conventional polishing section, but a 30 mm pad has a tiny working face. Overloading it will quickly saturate the foam and make the combination less effective.

Clean the pad frequently for the same reason. There isn’t much foam surface available to absorb spent compound and removed paint residue, so contamination can build up quickly.

If you’re correcting an entire vehicle, don’t try to use the 30 mm pad everywhere simply because it provides excellent control. Larger pads are considerably more efficient on broad panels. Use the 30 mm setup where its precision actually provides an advantage.
