ADBL Roller Finish 125 mm is a soft foam polishing pad designed for the finishing and refinement stages of machine paint correction. Made for dual-action polishing machines, it is particularly suited to removing light polishing haze and holograms while helping maximise paint clarity and gloss.

How to use

Thoroughly wash and decontaminate the vehicle before machine polishing.

If the vehicle has already undergone a cutting or polishing stage, remove any remaining compound residue and inspect the paint to determine whether further refinement is required.

Centre ADBL Roller Finish 125 mm securely on the appropriate backing plate of your dual-action polishing machine.

Apply a suitable finishing polish to the pad according to the compound manufacturer’s instructions.

Place the pad against the paint before switching on the machine.

Work a manageable section at a time using controlled, overlapping passes. Keep the pad properly positioned against the surface and avoid unnecessary pressure.

Once the polishing cycle is complete, remove the residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect the finish under appropriate lighting.

Clean the pad regularly throughout the polishing process to prevent spent compound and paint residue from accumulating in the foam.

Once the required finish has been achieved, prepare the paint appropriately before applying your chosen wax, sealant or ceramic coating.

Roller Finish isn’t intended to replace a cutting pad. Its job comes later in the correction process, when you’re trying to refine the surface rather than aggressively remove deeper defects.

A typical multi-stage approach might therefore look something like:

Cutting pad + cutting compound → finishing pad + finishing polish → protection

Within the ADBL range, Roller Finish and ADBL Perfect Finish make a logical combination when the objective is to remove residual haze or holograms and maximise paint clarity after heavier correction.

That doesn’t mean every vehicle automatically requires two polishing stages. Always carry out a test section first. If a finishing combination achieves the correction and finish you’re looking for by itself, there’s little reason to remove additional clear coat with a more aggressive process.

Likewise, don’t assume that every paint system will finish identically. Softer paints can be particularly sensitive to pad and polish choice, while harder finishes may require more corrective action before you reach the refinement stage.

Use good inspection lighting between stages. Holograms, micro-marring and polishing haze can be difficult to identify under poor workshop lighting and may become much more obvious once the vehicle is outside.

Keep the pad clean as you work. A finishing pad loaded with dried polish and removed paint residue won’t behave like a fresh one and can compromise the clarity you’re trying to achieve.

It’s also worth distinguishing Roller Finish from ADBL’s softer finishing options. ADBL separately manufactures Roller Soft Polish and Roller Final Finish pads. That gives you the ability to move beyond the standard Finish pad when a particular paint system requires an even finer final refinement step.
