GYEON Q²M Tar REDEFINED is a pH-neutral tar remover designed to dissolve stubborn tar, asphalt deposits and other organic road contamination without resorting immediately to mechanical decontamination.

Safe for use on paintwork, glass and painted or unpainted plastic trim, Q²M Tar REDEFINED is particularly useful around lower doors, side skirts and areas behind the wheels where tar deposits tend to accumulate. It can also tackle adhesive and glue residue where appropriate.

The REDEFINED formula features lower VOC content while retaining the cleaning performance needed to break down stubborn contamination. Crucially, it is also suitable for ceramic-coated vehicles without compromising the coating’s durability or water-repellent properties.

By chemically removing as much contamination as possible before reaching for a clay bar, Q²M Tar REDEFINED can also reduce unnecessary mechanical contact with the paint – helping minimise the risk of clay-induced marring.

Prestige Detailing Tips

• Use Q²M Tar REDEFINED on a cool, dry surface away from direct sunlight. Spray it directly onto the affected areas and allow it time to dissolve the contamination.
• Allow approximately 2–4 minutes of dwell time, monitoring the surface as the tar begins to break down. Never allow the product to dry.
• For stubborn deposits, gently wipe or agitate the affected area with a suitable microfibre or soft applicator rather than aggressively scrubbing the paint.
• Rinse the treated area thoroughly afterwards. For a complete decontamination process, wash the vehicle once the tar-removal stage has been completed.
• Tar and iron contamination are different problems. Pair Q²M Tar REDEFINED with an appropriate iron remover when carrying out a thorough chemical decontamination before claying or paint correction.
• Don’t reach for clay unnecessarily. Removing tar and other bonded contamination chemically first can reduce the amount of mechanical decontamination required and therefore minimise the risk of marring the paint.
