Description
GYEON Q²M Finish is a soft foam polishing pad designed for the final refinement stage of machine polishing, where maximising gloss and clarity takes priority over heavy defect removal.
Sitting at the least aggressive end of GYEON’s foam polishing pad range, Q²M Finish is particularly suited to refining paint after a heavier correction stage, removing very light imperfections and helping produce the crisp, high-gloss finish you want before applying protection.
Its soft foam construction makes it a natural partner for finishing polishes and other low-cut combinations. On more delicate paint systems, it can also provide the gentler polishing action required when a more aggressive pad would simply introduce unnecessary cut.
The important distinction is correction versus refinement. Q²M HeavyCut and Cut are intended to tackle more substantial defects, while Q²M Polish provides a versatile middle ground. Q²M Finish is the pad to reach for when the paint is already in good condition and the objective is final refinement and gloss.
For multi-stage paint correction, it therefore provides the logical final step in GYEON’s foam pad system.
Prestige Detailing Tips
- Choose the least aggressive combination that achieves the result you need. If the paint only requires light refinement, there’s little reason to start with a heavy-cut pad.
- Q²M Finish is primarily a refinement pad. Deeper scratches, oxidation and substantial swirl marks will normally require a more aggressive pad and compound combination first.
- When carrying out multi-stage correction, use Q²M Finish after the heavier defect-removal stage to maximise clarity and gloss.
- Work with an appropriate finishing polish and don’t overload the pad with product. Excess polish can reduce efficiency and make residue removal unnecessarily difficult.
- Keep the pad clean throughout the polishing process. Spent polish and removed paint residue accumulating in the foam can compromise performance.
- Use several pads when correcting an entire vehicle rather than attempting to polish every panel with one saturated pad.
- Inspect your results under appropriate lighting between stages. A portable inspection light such as Q²M Prism Mini can help reveal remaining haze, holograms or defects that workshop lighting may hide.
- Once polishing is complete, remove polishing oils and residue with GYEON Q²M Prep before applying a ceramic coating or other compatible protection.
- Our paint correction guide explains the wider correction process, including preparation, polishing and final inspection.
- Polishing pads have no curing period, but any protection subsequently applied must follow its own application and curing requirements.
