Description
GYEON Q²M HeavyCut 80 mm is a compact, aggressive foam polishing pad designed for substantial paint correction in areas where a full-size cutting pad can’t work comfortably.
Sitting at the most aggressive end of GYEON’s foam pad range, HeavyCut is intended for situations where stronger mechanical correction is required to tackle more substantial swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and other significant paint defects.
The 80 mm format brings that cutting ability to smaller panels and intricate sections such as pillars, bumpers and tighter areas of complex bodywork, giving you considerably more control than attempting to manoeuvre a large pad into the same space.
For maximum foam-pad correction, pair Q²M HeavyCut with GYEON Q²M Compound+ REDEFINED. The combination provides a logical starting point when substantial defect removal is required before stepping down to a finer pad and polish for refinement.
Supplied as a 2-pack, Q²M HeavyCut 80 mm also allows you to rotate pads as they become loaded or warm during more demanding correction work.
Prestige Detailing Tips
- Use HeavyCut only when the paint actually requires it. Start with a test section and choose the least aggressive pad and compound combination capable of producing the required result.
- For maximum correction, pair Q²M HeavyCut with GYEON Q²M Compound+ REDEFINED.
- If Q²M Cut provides sufficient correction, there’s little advantage in stepping unnecessarily to HeavyCut. Greater cutting power should be used to solve a specific defect problem rather than simply to save time.
- Always use an appropriately sized backing plate and compatible polishing machine with an 80 mm pad.
- Take particular care around edges, body lines and complex curves. Smaller pads provide excellent access but can also concentrate polishing action over a smaller area.
- Keep the pad clean throughout the correction process. Heavy correction generates considerable spent compound and removed paint residue, which should not be allowed to accumulate indefinitely in the foam.
- Rotate between the two supplied pads during longer polishing sessions rather than continually working one heavily loaded or excessively warm pad.
- Heavy cutting will often require refinement afterwards. Step down to Q²M Polish or Q²M Finish as appropriate to restore maximum clarity and gloss.
- Inspect the paint carefully after each stage rather than assuming a defect has been safely removed.
- Once correction and refinement are complete, wipe down the paint with GYEON Q²M Prep before applying a ceramic coating or other compatible protection.
- Our paint correction guide covers the complete preparation and correction process.
Where does Q²M HeavyCut 80 mm fit?
Q²M HeavyCut 80 mm → maximum foam-pad correction
Q²M Cut 80 mm → strong, versatile defect correction
Q²M Polish 80 mm → medium correction and refinement
Q²M Finish 80 mm → final refinement and gloss
For larger panels, use the full-size HeavyCut pad for greater working coverage. Choose the 80 mm version for smaller areas where you need maximum foam cutting power with greater precision.
