Description
GYEON Q²M Cut 80 mm is a compact foam cutting pad designed to bring strong paint-correction performance to smaller panels, tighter areas and intricate sections where a full-size polishing pad can become difficult to control.
Its cutting foam provides the mechanical correction required to tackle swirl marks, scratches and other moderate-to-heavier paint defects, while the 80 mm format gives you greater precision around areas such as pillars, bumpers and complex bodywork.
This makes Q²M Cut 80 mm particularly useful when carrying out a complete paint correction. Large pads can handle broad sections efficiently, while the smaller Cut pad allows you to maintain a similar correction strategy as you move into areas where manoeuvrability becomes more important than outright coverage.
Pair it with GYEON Q²M Compound for a balanced cutting combination, adjusting the compound and pad choice according to the paint system and severity of the defects you’re dealing with.
Supplied as a 2-pack, Q²M Cut 80 mm also allows you to rotate pads during longer correction jobs rather than continuing to work with foam that has become excessively loaded or warm.
Prestige Detailing Tips
- Always use Q²M Cut 80 mm with an appropriately sized backing plate and compatible polishing machine.
- Carry out a test section before committing to the entire vehicle. Paint hardness and defect severity vary considerably, so use the least aggressive combination capable of achieving the correction required.
- Use with: Pair with GYEON Q²M Compound for strong correction of swirl marks and other paint defects.
- For particularly severe defects, the Q²M HeavyCut 80 mm pad provides a more aggressive foam option.
- Smaller polishing areas often contain edges, curves and body lines. Maintain good machine control and avoid concentrating excessive correction on vulnerable areas.
- Keep the pad clean throughout the correction process. Paint residue and spent compound accumulating within the foam can reduce cutting consistency.
- Rotate between the two supplied pads as necessary rather than attempting to complete every small section with one saturated pad.
- After the cutting stage, inspect the finish. Where additional refinement is required, step down to Q²M Polish or Finish rather than continuing unnecessarily with the cutting combination.
- Once polishing is complete, use GYEON Q²M Prep to remove polishing oils before applying ceramic coating or another compatible protection product.
- Our paint correction guide covers the wider correction process.
