Application and curing guidance
Surface preparation: Thoroughly wash and chemically decontaminate the vehicle using products suitable for matte or satin finishes. Avoid abrasive polishing or paint correction techniques that could permanently alter the surface texture. Where appropriate, use GYEON Q²M Degrease Tabs and hot water according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the surface is completely dry and free from oils, then apply Q²M Prep. Wait 15 minutes before coating.
Application: Shake the bottle before use. Apply a generous amount of Q² Matte EVO to the supplied coating applicator and spread evenly across the surface. Work on cool, dust-free panels, away from direct sunlight. Careful levelling is particularly important because uneven application may be difficult to correct on matte finishes.
Wipe-off: Remove the coating residue immediately after application, typically within 10–30 seconds. Use clean, suitable microfibre cloths and inspect the surface carefully to ensure that no streaks, smudges or high spots remain. In warm or humid conditions, work in smaller sections.
Initial drying: Keep the vehicle dry and protected from rain and water for at least 12 hours following application. Do not confuse this initial drying period with the coating’s longer-term curing and stabilisation.
Early maintenance: Avoid strong detergents during the first 14 days. Use gentle washing techniques and minimise unnecessary mechanical contact with the surface.
Ongoing maintenance: Wash regularly using a suitable pH-neutral shampoo. GYEON Q²M Cure Matte is recommended to help maintain hydrophobic performance without increasing gloss. Avoid conventional gloss-enhancing waxes, polishes and abrasive products that could alter the matte finish.
Manufacturer-stated durability is a maximum estimate. Actual performance depends on preparation, application conditions, environmental exposure and maintenance.
